I'm just curious as to how to get the dirt/grime off the keyboard and wrist rests on the ibooks....I have the iKlear spray and cloths along with the individual towlettes for the screen but neither one seem to get the rest clean. Can I just use rubbing alcohol? I realize it's bound to get dirty when it's used all the time, I just don't like being able to see exactly where my hands rest all the time

Thanks!!!

Lindsay

I don't remember the name but I found these sponges, Magic Sponge, I think was the name. They worked wonders. Just rubbed a little of the sponge (dry) and it pulled all the discoloration right off.
The sponge is white, almost like Styrofoam, and it said on the package (which I tossed as I cut the sponge into cubes so I just need a little at a time when needed) that it's good for absorbing oils.
It was just in a grocery store with the other cleaning agents, sponges. Next time I go back, I'll see if I can find the name.

BTW, before that, I tried almost everything. Formula 409, glass cleaner, light soap, even a touch of brightening toothpaste as a scouring agent and nothing worked.

The best thing to get your wrist rests clean is an eraser (the softer the better) - try it, you'll be surprised.

I use plain old Formula 409 to clean my Macs. It works great for removing oil. It does, however, leave a slight cloudy film on displays, so I use the 409 to remove all the grime, and then regular Windex to polish it all. Works beautifully.

Yeah I thought that Windex eats away at the LCD or something along those lines, I've always used just plain warm water to clean my book every third day.

the best thing to use on a monitor is an antistatic monitor wipe. no liquid to run into areas you dont want it and it helps prevent dust from collecting emediatly.
these are only about 5 dollars for 70 wipes they clean the dirt off very well too.

Here is a link to the product.

Doesn't it say in the manual what to use to clean the screen?
