Hi,

I have a PB Ti 550 combo with a problem that I would like some guideance with.

When I open the machine from sleep the screen display stripes from the middle down, it stretches the passwaord box in the middle. When I move the screen tilt forward it clears.

The problem appears to be getting worse, and originally it only happened when I logged on, but now it can happen anytime, and it is getting more fiddly to get the screen back to normal.

It's a shame really this machine has served me well for years.

I am particualr interested to know if this is sympton of a logic board issue?

Although I guess it is more likely to be the screen wiring through the hinge as the screen fixes with a screen adjustment.

If anyone else has had this happen I'd appreciate comments , if it can be fixed at home, I don't mind taking a gamble, or if not an idea of how much a repair would cost?

I'm in the UK so I don't have access to many Mac fixers but would appreciate your comments.

Thanks

it sounds a lot like the problems i was having on my pismo (now sold!)...
i had to have the connector from the base to the lid replaced (not as bad as needing a new lcd display).

you might want to bring it to an apple-authorized shop, and check that out.
