upgraded from 867mhz Rev A 12" PB which was approaching its 18 month birhtday
have to say that after installing Panther myself and upgrading to 10.3.5, MY NEW POWEROBOOK KICKS ASS!! No dead pixels, no problems at all!!
the performance gain between those two machines is unbeliavble, just for those everyday things like browsing, mail, MS office stuff, burning CD's and DVD's
looking forward to this winter

Could you be more specific on that? Or better, post some numbers here?

I'm in the same boat. I have a Rev A 12 inch Power Book and I'm interested in a speed boost. Its not a big jump to the 1.3 but the new PB have a bigger L2 cache than what the rev A's had.
I'm thinking about moving up to the 15inch for the better graphic chipset. I wish the 12-inch had a little more graphic punch to them. The 12 inch is the perfect size….
I will not but another PB with the SupraDrive. I’ve yet to use it (to burn DVD’s). I always use my desktop….

I did the EXACT same thing! Well, I didn't get the superdrive ($180 I didn't need to spend). I still have to up the RAM but I'm happy.
That said, my rev. a was no slouch. I love that computer. Never a single problem and it has over 2 years left on its warranty. The opportunity presented itself to get this one and I couldn't pass it up. Oh, if anyone wants it, it's on eBay now.

congrats!
i got the same model last week, CTO'd w/ 80G 5400rpm hard drive. i love the 12" form factor (i already own a 12" ibook) and have a 22" cinema display to plug into it so in a sense i have best of all worlds in power, portability and screen resolution.

Have any of you moved from a 15 to a 12? or a 12 to a 15? Are you really missing anything on a 12?
I'm on a 12 ibook and thinking of going to a 15 pbook but I don't know if the larger size will drive me crazy.
Just curious....
