Today my wife opened the powerbook we bought about one year ago (15" 1GHz). The display was full of horizontal lines and I could barely see double images of login window (if this ever happened to you then you should understand what I am saying). Then I restarted the computer and everything went fine.

After this incidence, I checked the LCD. I found the LCD is loose. Say, if I put the LCD at an arbitrary angle, then I rotate it back a little bit, it will fall back to the original position. I doubt if the problem happened today is related to this loose diaplay.

Will Apple take it for repair? My warranty expires in one month...

The loose display could very well be related to the lines on the screen. The cable that connects the screen to the logic board runs through the hinge, so if that cable is getting twisted, pulled, bent, etc. the screen will not display properly.

As long as it's not an obvious result of the laptop being dropped or otherwise physically abused, Apple should take it. Give 'em a call!
