I've got a problem with my ibook's battery. keep in mind that it's a blueberry before I say anything else.

anyway, I haven't actually used it off the battery recently, because I haven't needed to. (so, probably not since several months ago) I just went on a trip this last week, and found that the battery life was significantly shorter than it had been. I was concerned, but thought that it might be in part just a digital-memory effect.

unfortunately, after an hour or two's use, the battery charge status went from about 40% to about 2%.

well, when I got to a place where I could plug in, I charged up the battery and ran it all the way down (since I'd heard that was a good way to get rid of the memory effect). For good measure, I thought I'd let it go down again, or at least, I wouldn't keep it on the plug yet,so I put it to sleep after charging it up again, and went a way for a while.

some time later, I came back to find the computer shut completely off, and the battery completely dead.

since that time, I have not been able to get the battery to charge at all above zero percent. The hardware charging indicator and the OS X indicator claim it's charging, although the ammount of charge never increases, but the OS 9 indicator says that the battery is not charging.

I wonder if there is anything that anyone can recommend for getting the battery to charge, or for getting a nice cheap replacement to last through a few months until I can afford to get a powerbook...
