I have a one week old 15" 1.5 which I am just loving. However, think I am doing something wrong here.

When I am done for the day, I close the lid, putting the unit into sleep. Put it away - and the last 2 days - when I open it up - expecting it to wake up - I get two tones - like a doorbell sound and the "heartbeat" light in the latch goes dead. Pressing the on off button does nothing. But if I closed the lid again, wait a sec, the heartbeat comes on - and when I open it again, all is well - however, I see a dialog box that says "Are you sure you wish to shutdown?'

The unit is pretty much used on AC the whole time, and the battery these last 2 times has been fully charged. I am putting one of the those screensaverz from Radtech - on the keyboard.

Is it possible, and either (a) I am doing something wrong in sleeping the system? (b) the screensaver thing is causing a problem, pressing a button, or (c) something is wrong w/ my PB?

Appreciate any thoughts - not sure if this behavior coincides with the update to 10.3.5 but it's close.

thanks

I can tell you it's not the radtec screen saver if that's what's worrying you. Your computer doesn't know that thing is in there. It's a software issue of some sort. I have a problem with mine very infrequently that it will go into sleep (i have it set to on batt power after like 10 min) and when I try to wake it it'll wake up and come to my password screan then after I type in the pw it'll just stay black and nothing will happen... i'll have to shutdown...

Thanks - I was just concerned that maybe the Radtech thing was pressing a key - or could be pressing the sleep switch wherever that is near the hinge. I have looked and it doesn't appear to be touching anything or that that could be the issue- but thought I would include all possibilities.

Just downloaded Cocktail - and running all those jobs - hopefully that will make a difference.

Two error beeps at startup indicate RAM that is out of spec or failing. Have you added RAM to your machine since you got it?

Yes I have - but its the PNY ram from CompUSA - that I understood was compatible. I installed it and it was instantly recognized. Also - I check now and it shows up as 1gb installed. I'm not seeing any other strange behavior at all.

Also - this behavior is just when coming out of sleep - not on startup - if that makes a difference.
