There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Panther has the language capabilities built in. You can disable the ones you do not need, but I have Japanese and English on my system now, without any additional packs or hassles.

Anyone else appreciate the fact that he asked about Chinese and Japanese language features and then closed his message with British and Italian greetings?
I love it!

You cannot disable input or display support for any language. What you can do is choose not to install the files that would let you set the interface to that language.

For example, I only have the files necessary to set the interface to English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. But that doesn't mean I can't input and view Korean, or any other language OS X supports.
