Last night my Wildeepz arrived from Radtech, and I attached them to my 15" AlPowerbook. I ordered the Series 2, which includes both the thick and thin cushions.

Radtech advises using thick cushions on the AlPowerbook, but when I had them on, it seemed way too difficult to latch than it should. Pressing the latch release resulted in the display bouncing up sharply, and it seemed like it put too much stress on the latch itself. I did try spacing the cushions farther from the latch itself, but it did not make a difference.

I ended up using the thin cushions, and I am satisfied with how they feel. I can close the display with minimal effort and it will latch, but also there is no play between display and bottom piece. As others have said, it feels much more "solid" now than before, because of this.

Does anyone use the thick cushions on their AlPowerbook? If so, do they get "seated" and eventually allow for easier latching?

BTW, I decided to go with the Wildeepz after reading Apple's warning in the Powerbook manual. They explicitly said not to put any material between the display and keyboard.

I use radtech's screensaver with no ill effects, I also have a friend who pick up a piece of frabric from a store both work. for me, I prefer the look and usage of the screensaver over the wildeepz dots on my pb.

I personally have both from radtech... the ScreensavRZ and the wildeepz. I don't know what series I got... I just ordered the ones for the 15" AL PB and they work great. You're right it does feel much more solid now (and heck it was solid when I got it too!). I like having the screensavRz because it's a great cloth to wipe down my PB if I get a smudge on the screen or what not... or anywhere on the case really. It was well worth the few bucks I paid for it IMHO...
