Hi

I was just wondering if the 640MB RAM limit in the 867mhz 12inch powerbook was because thats all the memory controller could handle or because there wasnt any 1GB RAM cards around when it came out. Im looking to get one but the 640MB RAM limit is slightly off putting when I can get a new 1ghz ibook which is pretty much the same system and can take upto 1.25GB for slightly less than the second hand Powerbook.

Thanks
Luke

A 1 GB module works fine in an 867 MHz 12" PB. They just weren't really available affordably in early 2003 when the machine came out. You'll be fine with a 1 GB module.

Yes that's correct all 12" AL books only have 1 open memory slot. The memory that they come standard with (either 128 or 256) is physically soldered onto the board
