so i have an older (not ancient) ibook. dual usb 500 w/ dvd and i hadnt used it in a while. i had left it plugged in for probably a month but shut down and when i went to turn it on i got an x battery icon. i pulled the battery out and put it back in and now it just says calculating and never says how long it will take before it is charged. is there anything i can do to get this battery up and running again?

Try to reset the Power Management Unit. (you need to turn the computer off, and press the little button on the left just above the audio jack).
