I have a G3 dual USB iBook that I have been using daily for over 2 years without any significant problems at all. The "logic board failure" issue cannot affect every single unit. I suspect that far more people with a problem post to forums than those who have no problems.

Afterall, how many posts like this one have you seen?

I would like to collect posts on this thread from folks with G3 iBooks within the Repair Program serial number range who have NOT experienced the logic board failure problem.

My step-aunt is still using my old iBook/500/DVD/10GB/384MB. I had it in my hands a week after the May 5th, 2001 announcment. I don't think the original white iBook was part of the repair program, though.

G3 iBook without the logic board problem (yet) here. Nevertheless, since the problem appeared on the forums I restricted its use to anything except work related proyects. I simply do not trust it. Maybe it will work forever, but who knows for sure.

My best friend has a G3 800 12" and his is still working perfectly. He uses it for all his Uni assignments so I've told him to back up frequently!

Although that said, if the logic board did fail wouldn't the HD remain intact?
