Hi there,

I received my processor today ($50) and installed it with no problems. It is working beautifully, and I definitely notice some improvement.

My question is: will the original heatsink be sufficient for the new processor? Is there a different heat sink that I should use? I would hate to have heat issues with the "new" pismo.

Thanks!!

How'd you find a 500 MHz processor for $50? I thought they were normally a lot higher.

Hi,

A friend was just parting out his pismo, so I jumped on it.

Any idea about the heat sink?

Thanks!!

The heat sink is likely the same. The G3 did not have the heat issues the G4 and G5 have. Just make sure that you put some Heat sink grease between the CPU and the HS so it transfers heat efficiently.
