Hi Everyone,

I have had a g4 iBook, since november last year, and for the last month or two the back light has been flickering, last week I took my ibook in to the repair centre to get fixed, and they replaced one of the leads.

Now since I got it back the flickering is still there (at first I thought it was my imagination) but today I have taken it back to the service centre to get fixed again.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong with my poor little iBook.

I saw two shooting stars last night,
I wished on them, but they were only satilites,
its wrong to wish on space hardware,
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care.

The options are backlight bulb, inverter, and the cable. I'm guessing it's either the inverter or the backlight... not sure which one is more likely here.

Thanks Detrius,

The cable was replaced last week, but the issue still remained. so hopefully they will be able to work it out this time round.

I've never had a chance to fiddle with one doing the variable brightness thing. My guess is that it's the backlight, as that is something that fluorescent bulbs can do, but it doesn't seem likely of an inverter board.
