I've just ordered a new ibook and I was wondering if I will have to buy some extra speakers or are the ones built in good enough for CDs and mp3s? Laptop speakers tend to be pretty tinny, is this the case with the ibook?

Thanks

Yea, they kind of suck for listening to music...you'll either want to use headphones or speakers. Or, if you don't have wireless internet in your house, you might want to consider getting an airport express. Wireless internet, printing, and music sharing all in one. Thats probably the best solution.

The good news is that my iBook G4's speakers are much louder than my iBook G3's speakers were. The bad news is that they still don't sound that great, so I'd get some externals if I were you. Paired with Aiport Express, you can have a decent setup without losing mobility.

Get a good set of headphones or earphones and you'd be in business

Thanks for the help everyone. iREZ, I took a look at those speakers thanks. They look like the sort of thing I could be after. Unfortunately I'm living in England and the cheapest price I could find on a UK site was literally twice that of Amazon.com. I'll keep looking though.
