Hi,
My 12 inch Rev C PB running 10.3.5 works great.
But I've noticed that occasionally (maybe one time in ten) when it wakes from sleep the display momentarily shows an elongated checkerboard pattern. Then it goes to my login screen and all works perfectly.
I have not noticed any other problem, and was thinking that maybe this is "normal"
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a known issue? Is it a precursor to some more significant problem?
I hate to send it back to Apple and be without it for a week or two if this is normal.
Would love for everyone who has noticed this phenomenon to post a reply.
Best wishes,
Rich

Sorry dude, never seen anything like that on my 12" Rev B. I don't think thats normal behavior, I'd call Apple and ask'em what to do because it's definetly not typical behavior.

"Elongated checkerboard"? Weird. Do you have an external display attached to your machine? Weird glitches like that are possible when the resolution is changed or an external display is attached or removed or the machine is awakened from sleep because the graphics chip video RAM is getting reset. If you have no other problems with the machine, I would not be concerned.

Thanks for the suggestion, Steve. But no external monitor attached.
Anyone else see this issue?

I see it to. This is a description of how it occurs on mine - the screensaver will appear briefly after waking from sleep, and it is then the checkerboard effect occurs as the display switches to the login panel (I have password protection for the screensaver activated in Security prefs). It doesn't affect anything so I've ignored it. It also only happens with certain screensavers (notably the iPhoto slideshows) and not others afaict.
IIRC, it only started happening after the 10.3.4 update and still happens with 10.3.5.

I've also noticed something like this on my iBook but thought it was just me. It looks like the video messes up for a second then goes back to normal.

Same here on my 15" 1.5 ghz. It happens every now an then. I can't verify if it's correlated with anything - too many updates, changes in settings, new programs in the recent past. Could be the screen saver which I started using very recently. Everything else works normal so I'm ignoring it.
