Hi Everyone! I can't wait any longer. I need a Powerbook now, so G5 be damned, I've ordered a new 1.5 GHz Powerbook G4 17" with the extra video RAM and faster hard drive. This will be my desktop as well as my notebook computer so I chose the 17" over the 15" for the added screen real estate and the reported cooler running temps. I wanted to wait for the Powerbook G5 or even an uprated G4 with Radeon 9800, but I've waited long enough, and I'm now counting the days until my new aluminium Powerbook arrives.

Good choice.
Been using mine as a desktop replacement for over a year now and wouldn`t wanna miss it.
IŽd love to have that bigger and faster HD. The Rev A HD is sloooow.

Congrats. It's a great computer. Just make sure you get enough ram. No sense handicapping yourself with such a great machine.
Don't know if you have a stand, but the iCurve works very well with, imo.

Thanks everyone! I've ordered 2 GB of RAM from Outpost.com. I couldn't pass up $139 per GB! I'm normally wary when dealing with cheap RAM but it sounds like it's good quality.

I noticed that Apple has yet to ship or to charge my account. Does this mean they are still "building" my BTO Powerbook?

Yup, it's still open. I'm not going to fret over it. I'm off for the holiday in 15 minutes. Have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend, everbody!
