Hi,

One of my friends has hooked me up again...

Powerbook 12"/1.33/60gb/SuperDrive for $900. It is in like new condition, and works perfectly.

The question of course is if it is hot. It does come with the box and all the accessories. Part of me is scared to call, apple though

But this friend of mine was the same person who hooked me up with a 12"/1ghz/80gb hard drive/superdrive for $850, and the rev a 17" for $1400. And they were all legit. I'm hoping it is for this one too.

I took the 1ghz one and sold it on ebay (about 5 months ago I think) and sold it for $1800, and traded my 17" for a g5/20in apple display/soundsticks.

What do you think, sell the g4 1.33, or is it the keeper?

Thanks!!

Tough call, you don't wanna be responsible if someone buys it then finds out it's stolen and comes after you. I'd first find out if it's "hot" and go from there. If you still have your G5, the 12" will compliment it perfectly.

Best to check these things out as to where they came from before purchase. I would never put myself in your position. Hope it checks out though.

if the seller doesn't have a receipt or invoice, call apple and say you want to know when the applecare warranty began (ie. purchase date, in which case it wouldn't have been stolen from a store, i think). say you don't have a receipt, but have the serial number and they'll look up the information.

beyond that, i don't think they can tell if it's been stolen or not.

also you may want to ask apple who the laptop is registered to and if it's not your friend or someone he knows, you may have a problem there.
