Just today, my iBook's screen (specs listed in signature) has began cutting out, flickering...call it what you will, and eventually goes black. My iBook's serial number falls under those listed in the Logic Board repair program, however when I ran my Hardware Test CD, the Logic Board, along with all other hardware, passed successfully.

Could this be something with one of my programs? The only non-Apple programs I currently use are Poisioned, MSN Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, Microsoft Internet Explorer (for checking e-mail only, my university's Webmail doesn't seem to like Safari), and Norton Anti-Virus.

I run virus definition updates daily, and ran an anti-virus scan just minutes before posting this, and it came up clean. Any ideas? Could it be the Logic Board still? Any help, thoughts, or ideas are greatly appreciated.

To test if it's the logic board, it's pretty simple : plug your iBook on an external monitor. If it working fine and the LCD is not, it's not the logic board. If you don't have the display on the external monitor, it's definitely the logic board, and will be covered by Apple.

It might be the famous inverter cable issue which is not covered by Apple (I have the problem on my iBook and I am pissed because Apple wants to charge $500 for the repair). If you do it yourself, it's only $20.

Okay, I've contacted Apple, and they want to send it in to look at the Logic Board. However, I started the computer fine earlier this afternoon, and as it gradually got warmer, then the screen distorted, and the computer froze. To my recent memory, I can't remember my fan running. Could this be a possible problem?
