I'm going to get a powerbook g4 and fegured I could save some money and buy the ram upgrade outside the store, how do you upgrade the ram in the power book, I have never owned a mac before.

Uhhh post this in the powerbook forum, this forum is dedicated to iBooks. To answer your question, all you do is read your manual and follow the steps accordingly. Make sure you use a screwdriver that fits those tiny screws on the bottom (as to not strip them), and make sure that all the pins are snug when installing at the recommended 30º angle before pushing down the chip when seating. It's not difficult, and your manual was pictures for you as well. Here's some photos from the POWERBOOK forum.Click me then scroll down to the pictures, all the way down.
