Has anyone else found that their power brick will produce an audible (quite noticeable actually, especially when I am trying to sleep) whine when it is plugged into the 'book while the 'book is asleep? It doesn't matter whether it's charging or charged, and it won't make the noise when the computer is running, it's only when it's plugged in and asleep. Very odd...should I be concerned?

The brick also gets REALLY hot when it charges, if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

My powerbook's adapter brick also does this but it is not something that I can hear, or at least it does not annoy me if I can hear it. If you think that the adapter could be faulty bring it to a Apple Authorized Servce center and they can take care of you and get you a new adapter and hopefully one that wont be such a nuscance to you.

Justin

p.s. My brick gets hot too but that is normal

My brick whines also. It's so annoying that I unplug it from the wall when I'm not charging my PowerBook.

it gets lonely when the 'book is sleeping ... =P .. it's whining and is trying to wake the 'book from it's slumber

FYI: Mine doesn't whine and doesn't get hot (TiBook 867). Try to get it replaced.

My Ghz Tibook itself whines (very high pitch) when it is asleep and NOT plugged in. It is most pronounced with the screen up.

Hvaen't noticed a whine from the adapter but then it is usually pretty far from me...

I don't hear anything coming from my powerbrick either while charging, awake, or sleep. For reference I have a 12" Rev B. I'd let Apple know about it, worst case scenario they give you a new powerbrick, worst case scenario there might be something wrong with your PB and they'll have to fix it (if your in warranty that is).
