Hey folks running into a strange problem here, wondering if anyone has any thoughts.

I have a 9 month old 12" PB, 1ghz, which has been working flawlessly until last week or so. Last week suddenly my battery went from lasting 3,4 even 5 hours at times to now only working for 30-40mins, even after sitting charging overnight.

Now i reset PMU and PRAM, drained battery dead, all the usual tricks and nothing has changed.

The only thing I can think of is that I bought a Kensington external power adapter, the car, airplane, home multi adapter version that says it will work with apple laptops but isn't the Mac specific model.

Could it have fried my battery?

Any other thoughts?

Well there seems to be a correlation but I own the same thing for my 15"al which I took on vacation. I used the airplane adapter and it worked flawlessly.

Did you try draining the battery completely that is keep it running until the PB shuts down?

I do think the battery is dead, so I'd call apple being that this problem is acute and not a chronic loss of battery you may be able to get a new one.

Where did you plug it in, perhaps the adapter is defective and overcharged the battery or something.
