ok ive put a thread here before on the same topic but the problem is becoming more and more annoying!

i have an ibook G4...since before xmas.anyway i have 2users..me and my boyfriend.mine being the administrators acc.now his account is fine.no problems.but mine quits most applications "unexpectedly" and its hard to get anything updated without it quitting out of the installer.so i use my boyf account.but this is becoming annoying cos all my files are on my acc.so i end up having to put them into the sahred file.

how do i fix this?can i delete my account and start a new one?help please!

Try to boot on Mac OS X CD1 (Press C during boot), then launch Disk Utility form the Installer menu, and try to repair the disk. Then repair permissions.

If it's still not better, you can try to delete preference files in Library/Preferences of your user for applications where you have problems.

If all this doesn't help, just create a new user... (You will need to create a new administrator account from your current account, then login with the new account, and delete the old one).

you can safely move all your documents, movies, songs, etc.
Don't copy applications preferences (i.e anything in your Library folder) as they are probably corrupted and are the source of the problems.

Some application support files could be needed and should also be copied.
