I just got my 12" 1GHz iBook with 768MB RAM. I have noticed that the "waterfall" type of animation for sheets doesn't happen. In Safari if I hit command-S the saving sheet just appears, it doesn't slide out of the window menu. Does this mean that quartz extreme is not fully working on my iBook? I can do the Shift slow-mo Genie effect minimize. I have the stock 32MB video card.

Sheets will appear if QE is working or not. Is this your first time using Panther? In Jaguar the sheets moved much slower and Panther's sheets have really sped up.

I've used Panther on my G4 Tower since it came out. This is so strange because QE seems to be working, expect that one feature. It doesn't work in any app either. Should I take it in? I've only had the iBook for a couple of weeks.

I'd backup your documents and reinstall OS X. It's pretty easy but if you're not comfortable doing that Apple should do something about it.
