Hello All,

I am one of those silent people that read every single thread in this forum but never post! I had a 12" rev b up until yesterday, I ebayed it and replaced it with a new 15" rev c. I figured I would give everyone my comparision --pro's and con's of each. When I first got the 15" out of the box I was in shock, it is a lot bigger than the 12". In my head I figured how much bigger can it be? 3 inches? The size doesn't really make that much a difference to my as I am not a road warrier. I would reccomend anyone contemplating either of these machines, to look at them first hand and realize the size difference. Even though the footprint is larger, the 15" is lighter than I would expect. The screen on the 15" is much brighter and crisp than the 12". Also, I ordered the 5400 rpm 80 gig drive with the 16 meg buffer. Right off the bat the drive is quieter than the 60 gig 4200 rpm hitachi drive I had in the 12", and the new drive is noticably quicker loader hard drive intensive applications. The build quality of the 15" is better that the 12" that I had. I know this is rather uncommon, but I either got a gem 15", or a lemon 12". My 12" out of the box had a wobble when sitting flat on a desk, the keyboard also had a dip in it. The new 15" has a couple of little pry marks on the right hand of the display, looks like it happend when they were snapping it together which is extremely minor compared to others. The 15" 1.33 Ghz machine runs MUCH cooler than my 12" 1GHz. The internal speakers in the 12" sound much better in my opinion.

My reccomendation? I think that they are both excellent machines, and your choice should be based on your needs.... people that are going to be taking there machines everywhere I would reccomend going with a 12", and the person who is going to be spending an equal amount of time in and out I would reccomend the 15" as it is much easier on your eyes.

Oh, and for whoever was looking for the pixels info. I have NO dead pixels, or uneven illumination on either.

Thanks for making my "should I upgrade to a 12-inch from my 15-inch" decision harder. (Just kidding ...I'm still torn between portability and the excellent screen I have on my 15" model now).
