I have recently been trying to burn a 800mb cd on my Powerbook.
For some reason Finder tells me that there is only 37.3mb free on the disk?
I've heard that not all optical drives can handle 800mb cd's so that is probably the problem :-(

Does anyone know if the burner software can be updated to handle the 800mb disks or is there any other way I can get to burn the 800mb disks??

I am using a Superdrive.

R.

My first computer was a Macintosh Classic -still got it :-)

Im 99% sure this is more hardware related than software. I just took an 800mb TDK CDR and put it into my combo drive rev b 12" PB, where Toast told me the blank was around 96mb.
I then put exactly the same blank CDR into my eMac which has a Pioneer DVR 107 superdrive in it (Same as G5's have), Toast tells me there it is 799mb.
Both macs running Toast 6.0.7 and OS X 10.3.5
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

I think the PB's combo drives will only read DVDs and read 750MB blank CD-Rs/Rws

Well, so much for the Super in Superdrive

But then I better buy some DVD-R's, I am still mad about my PB though
