My brother didn't know my laptop was in my backpack, and he casually tossed it onto the floor. When I took it out the corner was dented in (was able to actually bend it back, surprisingly) but the screen got a nasty gash on the front.

Apple won't replace it because it's "cosmetic" damage. I looked around on the net and found a few products for fixing LCD scratches. Can anyone recommend any products? I know it won't get rid of the scratch completely, but I'd like to at least minimize it. Then maybe put one of those static-cling screen protectors to prevent any further damage.

I'm assuming that's actually a crack. How could it have gotten scratched if the screen was closed?

I was assuming that the metal scratched the screen when it bent.
