i'm not sure when it happened (i don't restart often and when i do i usually don't pay much attention) but recently i noticed that i no longer hear the startup chime on my TiBook 400.

everything else seems to be working perfectly, knock on wood.

anyone know what might cause this and/or if it might be a sign of a problem?

Just wanna see if resetting the PMU or zapping the PRAM did the trick, for future reference.

For my information, where are the reset buttons on the 12" and 15" powerbooks. My 12" pb has been giving me erratic dates, and I suspect the PRAM or backup battery are messed up.

zapping the PRAM worked. didn't bother trying to reset the PMU.
