I've used Netscape for years! This afternoon it suddenly crashed and when I tried to reopen it, it opened for a few seconds, then crashed again. I tried numerous times (numerous restarts) and it wouldn't work. So I installed the latest version. The same thing now happens with 7.2!
I have an iBook, OS 10.2.8.
The most recent application I tried to install a few days ago was the updated version of Java. Netscape worked fine for a couple of days after that.
I thought I may have installed Java incorrectly, so I tried to reinstall it again today. An error sign came up - said:
"java 142 Update2.dmg" failed to mount due to error 95. (no mountable file system.).
Does anyone know if this recent foray into a java update may have killed Netscape after a couple of day?
I'm very desperate because I have Netscape set up with a number of mailboxes and they aren't all transferring to Explorer. I have legitmate emails go into my "junk mail" or trash folders that I'm constantly pulling out. Without them and the other emails, and my "sent" mails I'm a goner.
HELP! Anyone? Thanks so much in advance.
