Could someone measure a PowerBook G4 17" and post the dimensions of the two sections and how high up from its bottom the two halves split? (in centimeters, if possible)

(I'd measure it myself, but I don't have one)

I want to make a model of it Second Life.

I really wish people would read questions fully enough to understand them.

The question was... How is the "1.0 inch" thickness distributed between the screen and the bottom?

Heh, thanks csurfer. It didn't even occur to me that they would have the dimensions posted, lol.

As the previous responder noted, the actual size of the top and bottom protions is not individually specified on Apple's website. What you could do is download the high-res press image of a closed 17" PB from www.apple.com/pr and in photoshop, find the ratio of the top to bottom and then get the exact answer you're looking for based on Apple specs on the PB website (1")
