I'd wait if I were you, upgrades seem to be right around the corner. You don't wanna go after an iBook now and end up kicking yourself a month or so later. Patients is virtue lord vader.

My iBook G4 is pretty hopeless for games, unless running them at minimum settings is ok.
It is almost certain that Apple will upgrade the iBook's video card with the next update as the 32mb ATi 9200 is getting old.
If it was me, I'd wait.

The only real evidence is looking back at the update cycle. For the past few years the iBook has been updated about every 6 months. The current line was introduced April 19 of this year. The previous models where introduced Oct. 22, 2003. The models before that where introduced April 22, 2003. That trend is the best way to make a guess when the new models will be announced but with Apple you never really know except with rumors.

Course looking at the iMac G5 they might just think that the 9200 is good for another few years

The 5200 64mb card in the iMac and Powerbook is fully compatible with that new thing in 10.4 'Tiger', the ATi 9200 is not.
