so here's a question that screams "familiar with windows pc's not macs"
but - i just got my mac replaced under warrenty and they did the whole mac to mac transfer w/ firewire cable (which by the way is the coolest thing!) - but now that all my "old stuff' has copied over i have folders titlted "NAME OF FOLDER (from old mac)"
since most of it is the same (the computer was pretty new), i'd like to consolidate the folders and eliminate duplicates.
essentialy i want to know if i can just drag the files from the "old mac" folders to the "new mac" folders and have it not cause me major distress. will it delete the duplicates? (i know windows is like "hey, you've already got a file with this name"). and i assume that the files that are not duplicates and came over from my old mac will just transfer to the new mac folder.
i know i know...the height of stupid questions...but hey, learning is step by step
