A while ago, I wrote about how great these laptop batteries were and the excellent battery life. Yes, this is the company that also produces their well-known uninterruptable power supplies.
Well now with actually using them, I highly recommend that you do not buy them.
It's been over a year since I bought the original 2 batteries and I've had to play RMA-tag about 3 times now. And I'm afraid that this will now be my 4th now that the batteries refuse to charge at all.
I know it's not PowerBook-related, I've spoken with the sales engineers at APC and apparently there was a bad batch of them during a certain production time.
But it's really a hassle. Yes, they pay shipping on both sides, but what use is a PowerBook when you can't take it with you and don't want to plug-in every time.
So please stay away from these batteries, perhaps you might get a good one, but why take your chances.
Once I get these replacements, I'm going to get another battery from another company. Looks like NewerTech offers extended capacity models. Anyone have any luck with them?
