Hi all,
I know this has been covered ad nosium, but I haven't seen an answer to this particular question:
How difficult is it to do the actual replacing of the screen yourself? Is this something that's fairly straightforward or am I going to have to go to some tech to pay to have it done? I'm fairly decently technically inclined but I haven't done anything like this before.
Just trying to get an idea of what I'm getting into before i go buying something off EBay.
TIA

It's not that hard (I did a couple of Ti 400s). The cables are pretty delicate, so that's the main area to use caution. Just download the service manual and follow the instructions.
Edit: I assume you're replacing the entire display. If you mean just the LCD panel, I probably wouldn't attempt it.

yeah, I'll be doing the whole display, not just the LCD screen, so it shouldn't be that hard. I'll look for it in the service manuals, thanks

You'll be OK swapping the entire display module on a TiBook. The Ti and Al books use glue to seal the bezels.
I've replaced the LCD panel in my Pismo but that procedure was documented in the service manual.
