Hi community,

yesterday i deplugged my ibook from powersource (while it was working) to carry it around to my TV, i do this several times a month and this is no problem, the Ibook switches to battery and continues to work, you sure all know that and done that.

But yesterday the Ibook shut-down completely (shut-down is the wrong word, it instantly showed black screen) after deplugging power. After a few attempts resetting it with / without battery i can finally say:

* the battery is FULLY loaded ( i got 4 green leds)
* the ibooks runs flawless with power-cord attached
* trying to start the ibook with battery only doesn't work at all
* ibook recognizes that the battery is loaded in the control-strip ( i can see this when booting with power-supply attached)
* :-(

any ideas??

All I can think of is to check the connection between the battery and computer.

Which OS are you using? I'm experiencing similar problems, with a 50% drop in battery life in the last few months. I suspect 10.3.5

I'm using OS9 and OS-X, but you may haven't read my post carefully. I'm experiened a complete failure of battery-mode, no startup using battery, but this battery is 100% charged.

I'm also experiencing a loss of time and date after degpluggin ibook from power-source.

i guess my ibook won't recognize the battery anymore after deplugging of the power-cord and so it won't switch to battery. That would explain the complete blackout after removing power.
