yea i know its old but here is my problem..

currently the system is running 10.2 .

i ran the software updater and it says to download 10.2.8

its a 100mb file (mac osx update combined) and thats not a problem,

it downloads and gives me an error that says

the installation has encountered a problem. None of the checked updates were successfully installed.

to try again, choose download checked items in the update menu and open the package from the desktop


whats the issue here...

I don't know but have you tried what it suggests and download the packages to the desktop rather than installing them via Software Update? I've had occasional problems with Software Update.
