Wondering if anyone can make sense of this.

Apple Canada is replacing my defective 12" Powerbook. On Tuesday, the 19th, a new Powerbook was apparently listed as "shipped" from the States, and I was given a Fed Ex tracking number. Shipping was listed as International Overnight.

I don't have the new computer, and when I check the Fed Ex tracking number this morning (Thursday the 21), I get only this tracking info:

Oct 19, 2004 2:58 PM
Package data transmitted to FedEx; package not in FedEx possession.

Now, I have an Apple Canada Customer Rep trying to figure this out, but have heard nothing back. What I want to know is, is this normal? Does Apple regularly give out tracking numbers before the computer has actually shipped? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks for your input.
