1 GHz 12" Powerbook, 512 megs Ram.

The drive works fine under normal use. I made a HFS+ journaled partition. Booted the Panther install disk. Selected my firewire partition and installed disk 1. Then it prompts to reboot.

When it reboots using the firewire partition, the system kernel panics with a message about 'Unable to find driver for Powerbook 2,6' or something like that.

The system works fine when I change the boot device back to the internal HD.

I looked for any 12" PB firmware updates and can't find any.

What else do I have to do?

BTW I was installing onto the first partition which was set to 10 gigabytes.

Thanks for any info!
