well hello everyone this is my first post i just registered today. Any ho i am trying to find a away to paint my ibook i have already upgraded the ram and i have installed an 80 gig hard drive. Today i took the screen apart and i painted the apple on the back blue so it looks pretty cool. But the only thing that sucks is that i cant paint the case like the ibooks before mine i have a 933mhz G4 and i love it but the caseing to it is solit white does anyone know where i can get a hold of a clear case so i can add my own touch to it? Thanks for any help.

i think with a little elbow grease and some rubbing alcohol, you can make it clear.

maybe thats just the g3s though.

the G4s with the 900mhz and below will go clear but from the 933 up they are solid poly carbon white plastic. and i know that the modle before mine will work just great but i cant find any that are cheap after all i just want the case.

Well, I guess you could always try something similar to the products from www.macskinz.com . IIRC, they used to sell clear covers for iBook lids, which could be painted as you wanted to (this was in addition to pre-printed designs). However, they don't appear to be selling any iBook skins at the moment. x_X;;

i have seen some of those skinz they are way cool and they are an easy mod. but i think it would be really cool to add my own touch to it like some others have done to truley make it my ibook. Here are some links to photos of some cool looking ibooks.

This bottom link will also show you how to pop out the apple logo in your ibook if you want to make it a different color it is really easy and adds a little something to it i think. If anyone needs step by step let me know and i will pop mine off and show you how to do so with photos. (MAKE SURE YOU USE CLEAR PAINT.)

I am wanting to do the exact same idea as that last like with my G4 800MHz, but i should proably test it out on an older used one first
Im going to wait until warranty is way past and get some tips for modding closer the time. I want to get some sort of applegeeks image on the front tho, but i should really talk with 'Hawk' closer to the time for permission etc.

Great idea tho
