hello all,

My tiBook G4 500, has somekind of problem with the audio, because it hasn't got any when I boot it after being off for more than 5 hours...

No audio means that the speakers won't play any thing, plugging the headphones won't play anything (although the mp3s, or other audio file shows the progress...)
also, the volume controler is present and selectable and with a good volume...

Also the internal mic won't work...

After I reboot (and sometimes not as quick), the audio plays correctly...

I installed a new system (OS 10.3.4), zapped the P-RAM, resetted the battery, and it still hasn't been fixed...

what can I do to fix this?

TIA!

The audio jacks on the TiBooks are on the logic board. I had a customer that busted a hinge inside the body of the machine. The tension was therefore applied directly to the logic board. Therefore, her sound stopped working. I'm not saying you have a busted hinge, but I am saying it sounds like a logic board problem.

but if I still have audio after a reboot, does that fit in a logic board problem?
I also think that it has something to do with the hardware (the system is new, and I've done the usual maintenance...

How can I be sure that it's a logic board problem? (probably take it to someone certifed, right?
also, if that's the problem can it be fixed?

thanks!
