My 2 year old daughter today pulled my 466 Clamshell SE (Graphite) off my entertainment center cracking the screen. This iBook has been through a good bit these past 4 years. But in the morning I'm going to transfer all my photos, music, etc to my dual 1ghz MDD Powermac.

My question for the old iBook....
What should I do with it? I've thought about buying an Airport Express and using it as a music server though I'm concerned how long the screen will hold up. Or should I pull the HD, slap it in a new enclosure and just have a 10gig external HD? If so, what should I do with the rest sell it peice by peice on ebay?

My question for a new portable....
I'm really leaning to the 12" iBook. Any thoughts on the 12" and the 14"? I don't really need a superdrive on my iBook since my pmac has one.

Thanks in advance!

Even with a cracked screen your iBook will bring a big price on eBay. I sold one not long ago where the only thing I could guarantee was the screen. The battery was near dead, the keyboard missing, the rubber bottom was coming off, and the DVD-ROM wouldn't stay shut. I don't doubt the logic board was good but I really didn't know. I got $150 easy out of it. I could have probably gotten more.

Wow,very cool! I didn't think about that! Your iBook sounds like the condition of mine. The ethernet port is shot, the AC port is going out as is the media port. The rubber bottom is peeling off. But man, it was a good laptop! I will miss it.

LOL. Well, if this is the most expensive thing she ever wrecks I'll be a happy man! Plus, it gives me a good reason to upgrade!
