If those are the only problems then I would wait, as they aren't real problems.

Just to make sure, do you have the battery in when you are on AC? Some Powerbooks seem to go to reduced processor speed without the battery in. Also try resetting the PMU. Finally, check to make sure that you are set to highest processor when on AC and battery in the Energy Saver options. It sounds stupid, but a number of people make the setting for one and not the other.

yes my battery is in and all of my power settings are set for highest performance. my main concern is the computer not actually running at its fullest potential. is it STUCK in 'reduced' mode? im not really SO eager to fix this just as long as im getting every bit of performance available from my PB.

how do you reset PMU? im pretty sure ive tried this before to stop this problem and it did nothing to help.

not sure if this relates to you, but here's what i just went thru:

my energy saver settings kept reverting to reduced; tried everything.
permissions, diskwarrior, etc etc.
archive & install.
the "genius" bar.

finally, apple suggested i reinstall everything, even "zero'ing" the drive.

AFTER all of that, i have the problem again. turns out:
if you've changed "AM" and "PM" in the international pane for your menubar clock, it can interfere with your energy saver settings.

a repeatable bug for me, and some others.

have you changed your settings for the clock?

just a thought (and a good story, anyway)...
