The screen on my iBook G4 1Ghz has been acting funny recently. It seems that after its been off for a bit, like the actual panel off not just the backlight, when it comes back on the bottom around the vent and the bottom left are very discolored and dim. The bottom left is the worst, it's very dim, the area fanning out around the vent part is mid grey colored when white is displayed. After like 10 minutes it's all pretty even and white again, but it seems to have been getting progessivly worse.

Do you think I could get another screen installed at an Apple store under warrenty if I were to take it in, next time I could do this is over thanksgiving break... This computer is hardly 3 months old.

I can't tell you what it is but if I were you I would deffinitly take it in and have them look at it. that would bug the crap out of me and it doesnt sound like it is to healthy for the iBook.
Bless those that sacrifice for us all.

It's actually getting worse now, under dimmed screen, like on battery, the whole lower left quarter is noticably duller. Under full backlight the part around the vent is all grey and stuff, it's not so noticable in other colors, whites by far the worst though.

Think I'll have any trouble getting them to replace it? Like what if for some reason I go in and it looks normal, will they still replace the screen for me. I'm a college student and the only time I really have is my thanksgiving break which is only a couple days long, and I need the computer pretty much every day.

I would at the very least bring it into an Apple Store and get it checked out. Worst case senerio, you will have to do without your laptop for awhile while they get it fixed.
