So okay...I've had my 12" Powerbook/1.33GH/512MB/60GB/Superdrive...(whooh!) for a little over a month. I love the machine but can't get it to burn DVD's on the Superdrive I paid an extra $200 for! I'm trying to "rip" from regular DVD's and was told by my Mac salesperson that it would, in fact, be possible without additional software. If anyone has any info on how to make this work, please let me know.

Thanks!

seems like you're talking about two different things. in simple terms, burning is say from a computer harddrive to a CD-R or a CD-RW. ripping is from the CD to the computer harddrive.

i don't think it means you can't burn information or audio onto a DVD.

Sorry...wasn't really clear on that. What I'm trying to do is get information from an original DVD onto my computer and then burn that onto a blank DVD. Any tips?

drag the files you want off your dvd onto your hard drive/ desktop/ or wherever you want to put them. eject your original dvd and insert a blank one. then drag the files you want to burn right onto the blank dvd icon, the rest should work itself out. good luck.

Are you talking about data? Then the post above this one is your answer.

Or are you asking how to pirate video DVDs?

If you are looking to make backup copies of your video DVDs, I suggest you search the software forum for "DVD copying".

It's been asked there a dozen times or more, and there's some comprehensive answers to be found.
