K, I recently upgraded from my Rev A 500Ti to a new AlBook. However, I am loath to part with my Ti! I just purchased a new top case (b/c of the infamous cracks around the audio out port). However, before I completely take it apart, I have a very serious problem with the screen that I need to fix. It's not the typical horizontal lines all over the scrfeen that I've seen reported extensively. Instead, the problem I am having is limited to about the bottom 1/5 to 1/3 of the screen ONLY. It starts out as if the bottom section just kinda freezes like a jpeg. In other words, it will appear normal at first (my dock is fine, etc.) but if I move the cursor below the 1/3 point, it disappears completely. If I readjust the tilt of the screen, it sometimes refreshes it and I can then operated the cursor momentarily. Very shortly after this starts to happen (depending on the day) it starts to form a milky grey band in that area, until it gets progressively worse. At it's worst, I get a completely solid grey band across the bottom of my screen. The rest of the screen is perfect. Can someone PLEASE help me isolate what Part is causing this problem. Thank you! T.
