I don't know what type of RAM to get for my iBook (it comes on Tuesday). Some people in this forum have mentioned that the cheaper RAM has overheated their iBooks. Tell me which ram you've gotten for your iBook, how much, and provide a link. The cheaper the better!

Also, I want to hear stories about the heat difference of using the cheap ram (newegg).

Edit: ignore the last edit.

You'll have a hard time finding a PC2100 since PC2700 is pretty much standard and PC3200 is already coming. Any PC2700 and PC3200 should run just fine.
I got myself a Samsung 1st party 256MB stick for 26€ at Cancom. Pretty sure they ain't shipping to the US though but check out Samsung 1st party either way.

Of course it will. Same as PC3200 will work just fine. If you got a car that tops out at say 120 mph doesn't mean you can't go 80 mph as well, does it?

DDR-SDRAM is backwards compatible meaning that it will always run slower than it's specified to.

Thanks, I didn't realize that it was backwards compatible.
