target disk mode (look up details on the osx forum);

you MAY need the powerbook install disks tho...depends on how "virgin" the drive is.

try the osx disks, thru another mac, and install onto the pismo.
i've done this twice, worked great both times.

good luck!

No luck as of yet it seems to copy the files but when you restart the target computer you still get a flashing Folder with the question mark thanks for you quick reply. But It looks like I'll have to get a external cdrom

target disk mode:
startup the main computer, plugged into the pismo thru firewire.
then turn on the pismo, holding down the "T" key...
should get a firewire symbol moving around on the pismo screen.
THEN put the install cd in the main computer; restart that, holding down the C key until the spinning icon does it;s thing for a few seconds.

you should now be booted to the cd; go to install, and BE SURE to select the pismo as the destination.

an external cdrom will not help, as you cannot boot from it.

if anyone has anything to add (or correct!) go for it!
