I'm a mac noob so please make the beatings quick.
I have only had my ibook a few weeks, and i recently bought a simpletech 512mb ddr266 chip to bring me up to 768. And its nice. However i was just wondering is there any reason besides marketing i would NEEEEEEED they're so called "mac ram"?

No reasons, you did the right thing by getting 3rd party RAM.

goodie, now to look for some cheap 1gb sodimms lol.

offtopic:
are there any good wireless webcams that are compatible with OSX? i see some at the local compusa here, but they're like $350. The cheaper ones look like they're Windows only.
