The G3 powerbook that I just bought shows the video but there is no backlight. Has anyone else heard of this or how would I fix it?

Thanks.

Backlights have a limited life...I had a couple of Wallstreet models that died after about 4 years of use. It would be easiest to just replace the whole display (try eBay--I just sold one of mine last month).
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.

Only when I need something right away, otherwise I buy online (not at CompUSA.com). Sorry to disappoint you

It would be cheaper to buy the entire display--mine sold for around $45 on eBay.

Well yes, cheaper, but then you get an old display with an old and dark backlight.
The bulbs are new which means the display will be as bright as a new one.
