Hello people,
I'm wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar to what I'm about to describe.
Two weeks ago (coinciding with the update to iTunes 4.7), the superdrive in my powerbook (12", 867MHz G4, 640 MB RAM) simply stopped burning things. It used to say something along the lines of 'Device exceeded its buffer' or something (always ejects the media). I've since upgraded my OS to Panter (10.3.6) and it now reads "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry". Toast experiences similar problems (but it cites specific error codes).
Two weeks ago, right away, I took my computer to an Apple store to have somebody look at it. To much embarassment, it worked like a charm using two different kinds of blank media they had lying around. Of course I took it home and could not get a damn thing to burn (trying three different kinds of media).
I used to have no problem whatsoever burning things (on ANY media). Anybody know what's going on or possible fixes?
