Hi, does someone know if the Ibook is good for playing games such as Unreal Tournament 04 or Battlefield? The requirements are the exact things that the Ibook has, but does someone knows if it goes slow or something?

Thanks

I have played the demo for unreal on my iBook 933Mhz and it is a little slugish. This is why I do not own it. for most of the other games I have it is fine. Warcraft 3, Myst 4, simcity 4, sims, and age of empires all work fine on my iBook. I would imagine better performance out of the faster proccessor.
Bless those that sacrifice for us all.

It would run fairly fast on low settings, if you are unsure try the demo because the game will run about as fast as the demo.

I have one of the 1.2 gig iBooks at work, and while I don't game extensively on it, I've tried demos of all the latest shooters, including UT 04, and it has done just fine on all of them.
Don't blame me - I voted Democrat

The real version of unreal 04 should work a lot better than the demo. I have read and heard abought a big sound bug int the demo that cut the frame rate in half. I plan on buying the
ibook soon and unreal 04.

I think that the bug only apply's to powermacs. There is also the problem with having an isight plugged in.

I did a little bit of gaming last night on CompUSA's 12" Demo model. The only game I felt comfortable running at 1024x768 with high settings was Warcraft3. UT2k4 and BF1942 both needed the quality turned down and the resolution at 800x600. I don't know if its because of the 32MB VRAM limit or the fact that it only had 256MB of ram in the machine. The system also could have been speedstepping because it was on "Automatic" in system settings instead of "Highest".
Halo wouldn't run good at all, even if it was at 640x480, low quality. Hopefully its just because of a ram limit. Even so, I am pretty tempted to sell my Gateway notebook and switch back to a mac. Even if just to suprise the guys at the lan party that most of their favorite games are available on OSX!
